The peptide has been used in studies of the intracellular calcium concentration and glomerular filtration rate in kidney cells, as well as the antinociceptive effects of opioid drugs on mice. This drug has also been shown to have effects on cyclic AMP levels and α 1 -adrenergic receptors in neuro2a cells.
