Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethan, allgemein bekannt als Tris, ist eine organische Verbindung mit der chemischen Formel C4H11NO3. Es ist ein weißes kristallines Feststoff, das hochgradig in Wasser löslich ist, was es zu einem effektiven Pufferagenten in biochemischen und molekularbiologischen Anwendungen macht.
