    8-Allyloxy-N2-(dimethylaminomethylidene)-2-deoxyguanosine is an anti-cancer, antiviral, and anticancer agent. It has shown anticancer activity in a number of animal models. This drug also inhibits the replication of DNA by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA precursors. 8-Allyloxy-N2-(dimethylaminomethylidene)-2-deoxyguanosine is synthesized from 2,6-diaminohexane and 1,3,5-triazine by reaction with formaldehyde and allyl bromide in the presence of potassium hydroxide. The product is purified by chromatography on silica gel using a mixture of chloroform/methanol (1:1) as eluent to yield a colorless liquid. The chemical structure is characterized by IR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
