PKM2-IN-1 is a combination preparation that inhibits the activity of pyruvate kinase M2. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of breast cancer, as well as other cancers. PKM2-IN-1 can inhibit the production of ATP and other energy metabolites, which helps to decrease disease activity. This drug also inhibits the enzyme activities of kinases and pyruvate kinase, which are important in the control of cellular proliferation. The PKM2-IN-1 drug binds to the cytosolic Ca2+ ion channel, preventing it from opening and thus inhibiting cell division.
