It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ns3 proteases in mammalian cells. This inhibition leads to decreased viral replication and viral antigen production. PI4KIIIbeta-IN-9 also has thermal expansion properties that are similar to those of human muscle proteins. The anti-inflammatory response elicited by this conjugate is due to its ability to activate leukocyte antigen receptors on neutrophils and macrophages.
