• Beschreibung: (2S,3S)-3-Boc-amino-1,2-epoxy-4-phenylbutane is a potent and selective inhibitor of HIV protease. It binds to the active site of the enzyme and prevents the formation of an enzyme-substrate complex, which inhibits protein synthesis. (2S,3S)-3-Boc-amino-1,2-epoxy-4-phenylbutane has been shown to be a potent inhibitor for other serine proteases such as chymotrypsin and trypsin. This compound has also been shown to be effective in inhibiting a number of proteases from bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Inhibitors have also been found against nonenzymatic protein inhibitors such as bacitracin, polymyxin B, colistin sulfate, vancomycin, and daptomycin
