Beschreibung

20-Hydroxyedysone is an insect hormone that controls the synthesis of chitin and other proteins in insects. It is found in plants, fungi, and bacteria. 20-Hydroxyedysone has been shown to protect against damage caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation, which is one of the factors responsible for skin aging. This drug also has a role in maintaining brain functions and controlling blood pressure. The presence of 20-hydroxyecdysone can be detected using chromatographic analysis with a preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) column. The compound binds to DNA response elements, which are regions of DNA that regulate the transcription of genes containing particular sequences.
