Trimyristoylglycerol (TMG) is a lipid that is found in a variety of natural sources including butter, coconut oil, and nuts. TMG is a biocompatible polymer that has been shown to inhibit the transcriptional regulation of chronic oral toxicity studies. It has also shown to increase the solubility and dissolution rate of drug nanoparticles by creating an oily surface. TMG is able to reduce the skin cancer-promoting effects of benzalkonium chloride through its antioxidant properties.
