• Beschreibung: Vanillylideneacetone (VDA) is a natural compound that belongs to the class of phenylethanoids. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. VDA also exhibits antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as some fungi and yeast. In vitro antifungal activity has been observed in human serum, cell lysis with the presence of trypsin, and cytotoxicity in carcinoma cell lines. Toxicological studies have shown no adverse effects on locomotor activity or carcinogenicity at high doses.
