CAS:Sodium hexamethylphosphate is a diamine that is used as an emulsifier, corrosion inhibitor, and control agent for the manufacture of polyesters. Its reaction with water produces phosphoric acid, which can be used to produce phosphate esters. Sodium hexamethylphosphate is also used in the production of amitraz. It has an average particle diameter of 2.5 micrometers and a reactive surface area of 75 square meters per gram. Sodium hexamethylphosphate is manufactured by reacting boron nitride with sodium hydroxide and ammonia at 300°C to produce a volatile ammonium borohydride compound that reacts with methanol to form sodium methylborohydride, which reacts with ethylene glycol to form sodium hexamethylphosphate.
