CAS:Tamsulosin HCL is an antagonist of adrenergic activity through blocking the activity of alpha-1 adrenoreceptors. This property makes Tamsulosin HCL useful to be used as a drug in combination therapy for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and urinary symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate. Tamsulosin has been shown to have a significant effect on BPH symptoms and urinary flow rates, as well as improved quality of life. The combination therapy group showed significant improvements in both of these areas when compared with the control group, which consisted of men who were given placebo pills instead of tamsulosin.
