    <p>COMU is an uronium salt used as a coupling agent for peptide synthesis and phosphonamidation. COMU is safe, shows coupling effectiveness comparable to HATU, has an outstanding solubility in organic solvents such as DMF, can be conveniently used with just 1 equivalent of base, achieves great racemisation suppression and is compatible with microwave heating conditions. Additionally, its by-products are water-soluble which denotes ease of purification by extraction. A coupling reaction with COMU can be visually monitored showing colour change at its completion. The COMU reagent has been shown to have potent antagonistic activity against the CB2 receptor and hydrogen bond donor site. This product also can be used to detect the presence of peptide hormones, such as LH and FSH, in urine samples. The COMU reagent has been shown to bind to integrin receptors on cells, which are involved in cell adhesion and migration.
