    ML 334 is a drug that has been developed to treat cancer. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme 18-alpha-glycyrrhetinic acid, which is found in human liver and may play a role in cancer development. ML334 also inhibits the protein–protein interaction between two proteins, one of which is a target gene for cancer cells. This inhibition leads to reduced expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and improved energy production in hypoxic tumor cells, which are resistant to chemotherapy. ML334 also has detoxification properties due to its ability to inhibit detoxification enzymes such as CYP1A1 and CYP2E1, which may alter the metabolism of various drugs, including insulin.
