N-Acetil-L-cisteína (NAC) es un derivado del aminoácido cisteína, caracterizado por la adición de un grupo acetilo al átomo de nitrógeno de la cadena lateral de cisteína. Es un polvo cristalino blanco a blanco amarillento que es soluble en agua y tiene un sabor ligeramente amargo.
