L-Fenilalanina es un aminoácido esencial que desempeña un papel crucial en la síntesis de proteínas y es un precursor de varias biomoléculas importantes, incluidos neurotransmisores como la dopamina, la norepinefrina y la epinefrina. Se clasifica como un aminoácido no polar y aromático debido a su grupo fenilo, que contribuye a sus características hidrofóbicas.
