Pentacene-d14 is a pentacene molecule that has been isotopically labelled with the stable isotope d14. Pentacene-d14 has optical properties that are similar to those of pentacene, but it can be used for nuclear polarization experiments at cryogenic temperatures. It also shows fluorescence in the visible and near infrared regions of the spectrum. The vibrational spectrum of pentacene-d14 is different from that of pentacene due to the increased number of deuterium atoms. Pentacene-d14 can be synthesized by transfer methods using quinones and deuterated naphthalenes.
