Ácido fusídico es un antibiótico esteroidal derivado principalmente del hongo Fusidium coccineum. Se caracteriza por su capacidad para inhibir la síntesis de proteínas bacterianas, lo que lo hace efectivo contra una variedad de bacterias Gram-positivas, incluyendo Staphylococcus aureus. Ácido fusídico se utiliza a menudo en formulaciones tópicas para tratar infecciones cutáneas, particularmente aquellas causadas por cepas resistentes.
