La tirosinasa es una enzima involucrada en la síntesis de melanina, el pigmento responsable del color de la piel, el cabello y los ojos. La tirosinasa cataliza la oxidación de la tirosina a DOPA y posteriormente a DOPAquinona, lo que conduce a la formación de melanina.
