Ethyl Laurate has been shown to inhibit the activity of the receptor in gland cells, which may be due to its ability to form complexes with enzymes or proteins. This compound also inhibits intramolecular hydrogen transfer reactions. The LC-MS/MS method has been used to identify the protein MCL-1 as an ethyl laurate target.
