• Descripción: Thiamine triphosphate is a coenzyme that plays an essential role in many biochemical reactions. It is a cofactor for pyruvate dehydrogenase, alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, and transketolase. Thiamine triphosphate is required for the production of acetyl-CoA from carbohydrates and amino acids. This coenzyme also participates in the synthesis of thiamin, which is necessary for maintaining normal nerve function. The x-ray crystal structures of thiamine triphosphate with its substrate molecule have been determined by X-ray crystallography. These structures are available at PDB ID 1TMP and 1THP. The reaction solution used to determine these structures was phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, at 30 degrees Celsius. The receptor activity of this enzyme has been studied using rat brain homogenates following incubation with various concentrations of prasugrel (a substrate molecule). Enzyme
