Información del producto
- 1,1'-Binaphthalene, 2,2'-Dimethyl-
(R)-2,2'-Dimethyl-1,1'-binaphthyl is an anion radical that has been proposed as a new type of chemical sensor. It is the only known molecule with two chlorine atoms on adjacent carbon atoms. The conformational and electronic spectra of this molecule have been studied extensively, revealing that it can be used to detect anions such as chlorine and nitrate. (R)-2,2'-Dimethyl-1,1'-binaphthyl has also been shown to be sensitive to changes in temperature and oxygen. This molecule may be useful for detecting these changes because it is thermally activated and can undergo a reversible reaction with oxygen.
