The reaction mixture was purified by high-performance liquid chromatography to produce the desired product. The purity of the compound was confirmed by postulating that it should have a reversed-phase HPLC profile similar to that of duloxetine succinate. Duloxetine succinamide is not soluble in water and is insoluble in organic solvents such as acetone, chloroform, ether, or benzene. The compound is stable at room temperature but decomposes when heated at higher temperatures.!--
