Descripción:Paclitaxel is an anticancer drug that belongs to the class of taxanes. Paclitaxel binds to cell membranes and interferes with cell division by preventing the polymerization of microtubule proteins. This drug can be prepared by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and has minimal toxicity in humans, but is highly toxic in rats. Paclitaxel also inhibits glucose uptake in breast cancer cells, leading to significant cytotoxicity. It has inhibitory properties against toll-like receptor 4, which may contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects.
