• Descripción: 2-(3-Pyridinyl)ethylidene]bisphosphonic acid (3PPE) is a prenyl analog that inhibits the enzyme farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase, which is involved in the biosynthesis of prenyl groups. 3PPE has been shown to inhibit cellular proliferation and induce cell death in cultured cells. This drug also inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication.
