Descripción:NSC 624206 is an inhibitor of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. It has been shown to be effective in experimental models of cancer and diabetes. NSC 624206 inhibits proteasome activity by binding to the catalytic subunit of the 20S proteasome, which leads to a decrease in ubiquitinated proteins and a reduction of inflammation in macrophages. The clinical response in diabetic patients with neuropathy was evaluated using a cross-over design, and it was found that there was a greater improvement in nerve conduction velocity when compared with placebo.
