• Descripción: Isodiospyrin is a synthetic compound that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It has been shown to inhibit cell growth in a number of different types of cells, including human leukemia cells and colon cancer cells. Isodiospyrin has also been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against the fatty acid synthase enzyme and the redox potentials it generates. This compound was found to be synthesized from two natural compounds, namely the plant families, quinone and dihydrobenzoquinone. The synthesis process involves an aldol cyclization reaction between these two compounds.
