Descripción:GM 6001 is a matrix that contains benzalkonium chloride. It is used as a pharmacological agent to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. This product inhibits the synthesis of proteins that are required for cell division and may cause neuronal death. GM 6001 has been shown to inhibit the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in cultured cells, which may be due to its interference with the synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). GM 6001 also has potent immunosuppressive properties by inhibiting toll-like receptors (TLRs) in macrophages and dendritic cells. The TLRs are important for initiating immune responses against pathogens.
