Descripción:Trans-2-Dodecenal is a fatty acid that has been shown to have anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is found in dry plant material, such as bark, and tannins. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of candida glabrata and Cryptococcus neoformans by covalently binding to their cell membranes, which prevents the uptake of nutrients. Trans-2-Dodecenal also has antimicrobial activity against other bacteria. The natural function of this compound is not well understood but it may be involved in the response to infection or the promotion of wound healing.
