SNIPER(ABL)-039 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the ABL tyrosine kinase. It binds to the ATP-binding pocket of the ABL kinase, preventing ATP from binding and inhibiting the function of this protein. SNIPER(ABL)-039 has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia cells, as well as other cancer cells, in vitro and in vivo. This drug also inhibits the ubiquitin-proteasome system by blocking the degradation of proteins, leading to cell death through apoptosis and inhibition of cellular proliferation. The long-term treatment with SNIPER(ABL)-039 may cause adverse effects such as low blood counts and infection risk.
