4-[3-[2-Chloro-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzoyl]imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-1-yl]-2-hydroxybenzoic acid is a potent inhibitor of antibody production and is used as a research tool for cell biology, peptides, pharmacology, and ion channels. This compound binds to the ATP binding site of the enzyme protein kinase A (PKA), inhibiting both cAMP-dependent and independent pathways. 4-[3-[2-Chloro-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzoyl]imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-1-yl]-2-hydroxybenzoic acid also blocks ion channel function by binding to the voltage sensor domain of potassium channels. It has been shown to inhibit receptor function in vitro.
