CAS :S-Acetylthiocholine iodide is an inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase. This compound has been shown to be effective in a variety of biochemical and experimental models, with the optimum concentration at 5-10 mM. S-Acetylthiocholine iodide has also been shown to have inhibitory properties against other enzymes, such as brain functions and choline esterase. The inhibition of these enzymes may lead to the development of novel biomarkers for the diagnosis of diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
