    ZT-12-037-01 is a potential drug for the treatment of malignant melanoma. This drug is a phosphoramidate prodrug that is activated by an enzyme known as cytidine deaminase, which converts it to an active form of 5′-fluoro-5′-deoxycytidine. ZT-12-037-01 has been shown to inhibit the growth of malignant melanoma cells, and also induces cell death in these cells. ZT-12-037-01 also inhibits tumor progression in mice with preclinical models of cancer and research on this drug has helped advance our understanding of this disease.
