It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Cryptococcus neoformans in vitro, and also inhibits the production of hydrogen peroxide by neutrophils. 1H-Pyrazole-1-carboxamidine hydrochloride is a white solid with minimal toxicity in mice and rats. This compound has low solubility in water and is soluble in organic solvents such as ether, chloroform, or dichloromethane. 1H-Pyrazole-1-carboxamidine hydrochloride was synthesized using trifluoroacetic acid and amines to form the pyrazole ring during the reaction. 1H-Pyrazole-1-carboxamidine hydrochloride has been found to be stable under acidic conditions.
