CAS :(4R)-(-)-2-Thioxo-4-thiazolidinecarboxylic acid is a metabolite of the drug diazepam. It has been shown to inhibit DNA polymerase and human prostate cancer cells in vitro, but not in vivo. In addition, it has been found to be an analytical method for detecting diazepam metabolites in urine. The drug is used as a biomarker for monitoring the pharmacokinetics of diazepam and its active form N-desmethyldiazepam.
