Analysis of the structure of this protein reveals an integrin recognition sequence motif with three invariant residues: Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD).

<p>Amylin is a hormone that regulates the release of insulin from the pancreas. Amylin is a protein that consists of 39 amino acids, and in its natural form it is not soluble in water.
