Oxide of Gadolinium foil is used in the control rods of some nuclear reactors. It is used as nuclear control rod material. Neutron shielding, phosphor activator, catalyst, scavenger for oxygen in titanium production. A metal element that is used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other imaging methods.
