Description

2-Phenylethyl n-octanoate is a fatty acid ester that is used in the food industry as a deodorizing agent. It is an acidic, high boiling liquid with a strong odor of oranges. The ester contains a phenylethyl group and two octanoic acid groups. The structural formula for 2-phenylethyl n-octanoate is shown below:
