• Description: Methyl ethyl 1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate is a propranolol hydrochloride derivative that has vasodilatory effects. It is used as a nitrovasodilator to treat angina pectoris and high blood pressure. Methyl ethyl 1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate binds to the alpha1 adrenergic receptors in the heart and causes vasodilation by inhibiting the release of norepinephrine from sympathetic nerves.
