Description

Guanosine 5'-monophosphate disodium salt is a nucleotide that is commonly referred to as GMP. It is a monophosphate of guanosine, which is an important component of DNA. GMP is used in the synthesis of phosphoramidites and ribonucleosides and diphosphates. It also has antiviral and anticancer activities, including the ability to inhibit the growth of cells by blocking RNA synthesis, which may be due to its ability to bind to the enzyme ribonuclease H.
