TCH-165 is a new chemical entity that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. It inhibits the activity of the protease cathepsin B, which is involved in cancer progression and tumor growth. TCH-165 also enhances autophagy, a process by which cells clear damaged proteins and organelles that are no longer needed. TCH-165 has been shown to increase protein degradation in human cells, suggesting it may be used for the treatment of diseases associated with protein accumulation such as Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's disease. The molecular structure of TCH-165 was modeled on computer and its binding site was predicted using computational chemistry methods. These studies helped identify potential targets for drug development and provided insights into the mechanism of action of this molecule.
