Calyculina A è un inibitore potente e selettivo delle fosfatasi proteiche, in particolare della fosfatasi proteica 1 (PP1) e della fosfatasi proteica 2A (PP2A). È un prodotto naturale derivato dalla spugna marina *Calyculin* ed è noto per la sua capacità di modulare vari processi cellulari influenzando gli stati di fosforilazione delle proteine. Il composto presenta una struttura complessa caratterizzata da un framework policiclico, che contribuisce alla sua attività biologica.
