Acido propanoico, 2-osso-, sale di sodio, comunemente noto come propanoato di sodio o 2-ossopropanoato di sodio, è un sale di sodio derivato dall'acido propanoico. È caratterizzato dalla sua apparente cristallina bianca ed è solubile in acqua, rendendolo utile in varie applicazioni. Applications Intermediate in sugar metabolism and in enzymatic carbohydrate degradation (alcoholic fermentation) where it is converted to acetaldehyde and CO2 by carboxylase. In muscle, Pyruvic acid (derived from glycogen) is reduced to lactic acid during exertion, which is reoxidized and partially retransformed to glycogen during rest.
