CAS:Tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl) phosphate (TDPP) is a chemical compound that inhibits the activity of many enzymes. It has been shown to be an apoptotic inducer in a model system. TDPP can also be used to study the molecular mechanisms of axonal growth and cell death pathways by inhibiting protein synthesis. TDPP has also been studied as a possible agent for treating cancer, although it is not currently approved for this use. TDPP inhibits DNA polymerase activity, which leads to inhibition of protein synthesis and cell death through a number of different mechanisms. Hydrogen bonding interactions with proteins are thought to be responsible for the inhibition of DNA polymerase activity by TDPP.
