Descrizione:
Blu di tetrazolio, noto anche come cloruro di 2,3,5-trifeniltetrazolio (TTC), è un composto chimico comunemente utilizzato in applicazioni biologiche e biochimiche, in particolare nei saggi di vitalità cellulare. È un indicatore redox che subisce un cambiamento di colore al momento della riduzione, passando da una forma solubile gialla a un prodotto di formazano rosso insolubile in presenza di cellule vitali. Questa proprietà lo rende utile per valutare l'attività metabolica negli organismi viventi, poiché solo le cellule metabolicamente attive possono ridurre il sale di tetrazolio.
