CAS:Prodotto controllatoAcebutolol is a non-selective beta-blocker that is used for the treatment of hypertension and other conditions. It inhibits the ryanodine receptor and prevents calcium release, which has been shown to be responsible for the contraction of cardiac muscle. Acebutolol also inhibits phosphodiesterase, which leads to increased levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in cells. In addition, acebutolol has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory mediators by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. The most common adverse effects include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, and headache. Acebutolol hydrochloride can be found in wastewater as a result of its use in humans and animals. This drug can be detected in wastewater using solid phase microextraction followed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
