Fmoc-leucina, o fluorenilmetossicarbonile-leucina, è un derivato dell'aminoacido leucina, comunemente utilizzato nella sintesi di peptidi e nella sintesi di peptidi in fase solida (SPPS). Presenta un gruppo protettivo Fmoc che consente la deprotezione selettiva durante il processo di sintesi. La struttura di Fmoc-leucina include un gruppo fluorenilmetossicarbonile attaccato al gruppo amminico della leucina, che aiuta a stabilizzare l'aminoacido durante la sintesi e previene reazioni indesiderate. Fmoc-leucina è tipicamente un solido bianco a bianco sporco ed è solubile in solventi organici come dimetilformammide (DMF) e dimetilsolfossido (DMSO), ma meno solubile in acqua. Il suo utilizzo nella sintesi di peptidi è favorito grazie alla facilità di rimozione del gruppo Fmoc in condizioni basiche leggere, consentendo l'aggiunta sequenziale di aminoacidi.
