It has been shown to cause death in primary cells by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA. 7-Bromothieno[3,2-b]pyridine also inhibits the growth of lung cancer cells and induces programmed cell death in these cells. This drug is an aniline derivative that can be functionalized with amino groups or other substituents to produce new compounds with different properties, such as anticancer activity.
