L'acido permanganico (HMnO4), sale di potassio, comunemente noto come permanganato di potassio, è un composto inorganico con la formula KMnO4. Si presenta come cristalli di colore viola scuro o quasi neri che sono solubili in acqua, producendo una soluzione di colore viola intenso. Questo composto è caratterizzato dalle sue forti proprietà ossidanti, rendendolo utile in varie applicazioni, tra cui il trattamento dell'acqua, la disinfezione e come reagente nella sintesi organica.
