Limeciclina

Descrizione:

Limeciclina è un antibiotico semisintetico appartenente alla classe delle tetracicline, utilizzato principalmente per trattare varie infezioni batteriche. Mostra un'attività antibatterica ad ampio spettro contro batteri Gram-positivi e Gram-negativi inibendo la sintesi proteica attraverso il legame con la subunità ribosomiale 30S. Questa azione previene la crescita e la riproduzione dei batteri. Limeciclina è caratterizzato dalla sua stabilità in ambienti acidi, il che ne migliora la biodisponibilità quando somministrato per via orale. È spesso prescritto per condizioni come acne, infezioni delle vie respiratorie e alcune infezioni cutanee. Il composto è generalmente ben tollerato, anche se può causare effetti collaterali come disturbi gastrointestinali, fotosensibilità e potenziali effetti sullo sviluppo delle ossa e dei denti nei bambini. Come altre tetracicline, è controindicato in donne in gravidanza e bambini piccoli a causa del rischio di scolorimento dei denti e effetti scheletrici.

Lymecycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, chronic arthritis, and experimental models of inflammatory reactions. Lymecycline inhibits epidermal growth factor (EGF) and its receptor EGF-R. This inhibition leads to reduced inflammation in the bowel. Lymecycline also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, inhibiting reactive oxygen species (ROS) production from neutrophils and macrophages.
