Selenic acid is used as an oxidizing agent. Its derivative sodium selenate is used in the preparation of glass and animal feeds. It acts as an analytical reagent and also used for the preparation of other selenium salts such as gold(III) selenate. Further, it reacts with fluorosulfuric acid to get selenoyl fluoride. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand.
